So Disappointed

OK! I played myself with the Master Cleanse! Bad idea! I've gained back the weight and what's worse my life got so hectic I think i put on more weight. So, I've made some changes. I've given up partying during the week and have reduced it to just the weekend and I've also decided to workout everyday, at least mon - friday instead of just three days a week. I've already stared to work out and have been diligent about keeping to my days. Still need to work on the eating thing, but i'm pretty proud of myself for working out like i said i would. I hope i see a little weight lose soon. I'm giving myself at least a month to see some change. BTW, i'll never salck off on my blog again!!!! today I'm going to the gym and i'm hitting the treadmill and bike for 40 mins then i'm going to lift weights. That's going to be my routine for a month!! Then I'll see what happens!!

Master Cleanse

Well, i've decided to do the Master Cleanse. I've actually started today and it's going surprisingly well. I have been around people eating but for the most part I've been able to just drink the drink when i feel a craving or a hunger pang. I'm only doing it for 3 days as i am going on a nice honeymoon trip to Florida on Wednesday. I'm so excited!!!! To get off the master cleanse, i will pack some fruits, veggies and soup with me. I want to be able to keep up any weight loss that i've been able to lose while on the cleanse. Even if its a 2-3 pound loss. I'm actually interested in the cleansing of it all. I've done it before and felt really good after. I just never ended it right, but i dont think i was in the right frame of mind. So, i'll take it a day at a time and today it's going great!! Have you ever done the cleanse before or something similar to it? How'd it go? What motivated you?

I DID IT!

I DID IT!!! 3.2 Miles in 35 minutes!!!!!! I thought i couldn't but i pushed myself and really gave it my all!!! I'm so proud of myself! Next years goal: 3.2 miles in 29 minutes!! I know i can do it.

I was given some great training tips from a friend of mine. He used to be in the army. He says that when i train, to run at my regular pace, then start sprinting. Do that a couple of times during my regular run and I'll start to see my pace increase. I'll give it a try!! Any more training tips? I could definitely use them!!

Tomorrow, September 10, 2009 I'm running the Kaiser Permenente 5K run/walk! I'm so excited! I've been training for a few months and have really done well with my timing. I ran it last year and ended with a time of 47 minutes. I did a practice run on monday and ended in 35 minutes! I was happy!!!

How did i train, you may ask? Well,three to four days out of the week after work i would run 3 miles on the treadmill. It took a while for me to do it straight thru. I had a habit of stopping when i got tired or bored, but i noticed that my pace was slowly picking up and i was developing a bit more stamina. After a while learned a trick, when you get tired, keep going but jog really slow. Almost like your running but your runwalking. Once you feel like you can get back to your regular pace, get right back into it, but slowly.

Unfortunately, i haven't lost any weight. Well, maybe just a pound or two and i know the reason why. I need to incorporate clean eating into my diet. That means cooking at home and knowing what is going into my food. No butter. No excess salt. No dressings. I can do it. I love eating that way. But, i'm lazy sometimes. After work and the gym, the last thing i wanna do is look at the stove. But, i do it more often than not, i just have to start doing it regulary!

I'm very proud of myself! I've been sticking to my workout regime and have been giving it my all. I just came from a water aerobics class and it was great!! You feel so heavy when you come out the water I guess that means your doing what your supposed too! I've decided that i'm not going to eat after 7pm. I failed today but i think tomorrow i will get on the ball. I've also been eating clean for the most part. I gradually incorporating it into my lifestyle! This is great!! The stress is gone! Now i'm going to wash my hair and go to bed! I hope i can keep this up when and if i have children! I will keep it up!! I know i can!!

I'm in love!!!

I did the aerobics class today and I LOVED IT!!!! It was great!!! The class was called Cardio Kickboxing and boy, was it intense!!! My girlfriend Kelly and I really put in all that we had and in time our efforts will pay off!!!

After the class i had so much energy. I felt like i could run my usual 3 miles,the only thing that held me back was time! Oh why do i have to work in the morning!! LOL!!! Well, i learned a good lesson from this class: Challenge Yourself! Do something unusual and see how your body pays you back! Go ahead! I dare ya!!!

Tips?

OK! I know this blog just started, but i would greatly appreciate any tips when it comes to changing your diet when your in a funk!! I've so far ordered the Clean Eating Cook Book from Oxygen Magazine! I'll tell you how the recipe's go!!

Didn't make it to the gym this weekend. Bummer!! But that's alright. I'm going tonite and i'll make up for those days i missed. I also ate really bad!! I'm gonna have to work on that. I think i just need to lower my sugar intake. Easier said than done.

I got my issue of Oxygen Magazine! I totally love that mag. it gives me such motivation. The before and after pics are great, the eating tips and Tosca's section is awesome!! I hope to look like one of the women in that magizine one day. The only reason i feel comfortable saying that is because those women are a human size. Not size negative zero. They actually work hard at their craft and i admire that. No disrespect to anyone who is a size negative zero, but i could never be that small. I would look horrible!!

Here's to beating the evening rush to the gym!!!!

You Can Make It

I did it again! I broke my record! 3.2 miles in 37 minutes!!!! WOW! My goal is to do it in 30 mins, i'll have to keep working towards that!! Sometimes in life we need a little push! Something telling us to keep going and don't stop! Yesterday, i found myself wanting to slow down or quit plenty of times but i kept telling myself, "You can make it to 25, just keep running." Then i told myself i could make it to 35, by the time i saw the 3.2 mark, i was so excited to see that i had pushed myself so hard. Most of us feel as though we can't push ourselves, that type of thinking is self-defeating!! We can do it!! We just need to tell ourselves that we can. Tonight, when i go to the gym. I'm going to tell myself the same thing i told myself last night: "You can make it!"

One more thing before i go! The ALS walk is coming up soon!! Lets get together to fight ALS!! I participated the year before last. Here's a pic of my group!! (i'm the girl with the dark gray pants on and thats DH right next to me, he's so supportive!)
Why do we eat even if we're not hungry? Alot of the time its not greed! It's boredom! Or PMS;-)!! In my case, its a combination of both or one or the other. My solution, well, starting today, whenever i get bored i'm taking a walk. Even though i snack on things that are healthy, i still don't need it, meaning, my body doesn't need the excess. I've had enough. That is what causes weight gain!

I'm about to get ready to go to the gym. I had some Edamame, that is a great energy boost for me, and I've got my IPOD. I can't work out with out it. Today, i'll try to maintain my record of 39 minutes for 3.2 miles or even try to break it again. We'll see!!

Welcome

Welcome to WorkOut Chic! This blog is dedicated to those of us who want to take our workout routines to the next level. This is also motivation for myself and all of us starting out with our workout goals. I must admit, the only reason i started this blog was because of something that left me feeling so great yesterday. I broke my own record!!!! 3.2 miles in 39 Minutes!!! Now, I know some might look at that and laugh, but believe me, from where i started from, this is amazing!!! And so, i want to motivate others while continuing my own journey!! No, i don't have twenty or thirty pounds to lose, but i wouldn't object to about 5 or 10. But I mainly want to tone up. And get into other avenues of excersie besides the treadmill and the stariclimber. So if you have any suggestions please feel free to let me know. Also, if you have comments or something you'd like to say, please feel free to let me know. Well, here's to our journey together! I'll be posting pics and different ideas as well as things that i find out can help us on our journey!! I hope you enjoy the ride!!!
